A Little Bit Fit TV Show has LAUNCHED!

I am so thrilled and excited and honoured to be able to bring you a television show that is geared toward those feeling very left out of mainstream fitness. I know how that feels. I used to be that person and sometimes I still am. I want you to know and believe that it is NEVER too late to start if you have not ever gotten on the ‘fitness horse’ OR if you have fallen off and think it’s too late to get back on. This is a 30 minute show that includes a Fit Tip, Cardio, Simple Strength & Stretching. It is ALL done in a chair so YOU CAN DO THIS!!!

I know. We ALL have issues and a multitude of medical labels stuck to our foreheads. I get it. You might think you can’t or it won’t matter, but I am telling you, no bull pucks, it does and will matter because if you improve your wellness, even just a little, it’s better than not at all. And don’t kid yourself, baby steps add up. Trick is, you just have to keep collecting and celebrating those baby steps. And by celebrating, I do not mean go and ‘reward’ yourself with a junk food meal, etc. etc. You celebrate by telling yourself, and everyone within ear shot, that you crushed another goal on your way toward improving your overall health.

Gratitude…

Be grateful for what you have been gifted instead of wishing for the things you haven’t.

The mindful practice of ‘gratitude is something that I have included in my everyday being for the last few years. Since 2013 for sure! Even on my crappiest of days, I look for that little bright spot that made me smile during an otherwise trying day, and I say ‘thank you’, not just in my head, but out loud. Saying things out loud make them more real, to me anyway. I have learned to let the words out instead of keeping them locked in and pushed down. I have travelled WAY past the point in my life where others opinions of who they think I am, without really knowing, matter. If, for whatever reason, I cannot find a bright spot in a really REALLY crappy day, I tell myself, out loud, that tomorrow is a new beginning with so much potential for a better day. Some of you might be thinking I am not very realistic and can’t just wish my life all roses and sunshine. Maybe not, but I do know that the kind of energy you put out into the Universe is the type of energy you attract. I consciously CHOOSE to live in a positive light and some pretty amazing things have happened since I started doing that. Plus, it takes WAY too much energy to be a constant curmudgeon.

I am grateful for this incredible amazing life I have been gifted. I am also grateful for the amazing people I have met along the way. Some people come into your life for a reason, a very temporary connection. Some people come into your life for a season, a longer but usually temporary connection. Some people come into your life for a lifetime. I am grateful to all of my connections, as each has taught me something that has enabled me to learn and grow. My ‘lifetimers’ are my greatest support system. Without them, I would have not had the strength to get back up when my old internal voice of negativity was telling me to stay down. You’re not good/smart/brave enough to do that, so just stop trying.

Here is a little challenge for anyone reading this. For one week, just one short week, find the light, even in your darkest moments. Focus on positive energy instead of living in negativity. Be kinder to yourself. Write it all down. At the end of that week, send me a private message to tell me in your own words and way, what happened.

Hello 2021 and Welcome to Karen Ross Wellness!

HELLO!!! For those who have been following me on Facebook through Karen Ross Wellness, and for those just getting to know me, welcome to my long awaited website. Someone asked me recently why I wasn’t called Karen Ross Fitness anymore, as I was a few years ago. I thought the word ‘wellness’ was more in keeping with how I moved forward with my plan of opening up my offerings to more than just what you would think of when you hear the word ‘fitness’ class or personal training. When you are building your Best Life, you need to include the body as a whole, mind, body and spirit.  More about this in a later blog. For today, it’s thank you for being here!

This entire website has been a long time coming. You know when you second guess yourself and wonder, ‘Am I good enough to do this? Will people think this is stupid?’ I have had this website since August 2017, but have had it hidden since then, as I try and build something I hope will inspire and help others, as well as keep me moving forward, one step at a time! Better to have tried and failed than never to have tried at all!

I hope this will be a place where you can come for encouragement and tidbits of ‘wisdom’ as you start, or continue to move forward in your journey toward your Best. Life. Ever.
